D-8606G is a practical choice for control equipment where operators need quick access to frequently used commands. Its 86-key layout includes dedicated F1–F12 keys and additional function and navigation keys, reducing the need for key combinations during everyday operation.
The integrated trackball keeps keyboard and cursor control together in one fixed panel, without requiring a separate mouse. In addition to the standard stainless steel version, D-8606G can also be produced with a black finish or backlit keys to suit different equipment designs and operating environments.

What to Consider Before Selection
Review these practical considerations for key feel, trackball installation, operating environment and protection limits before selecting D-8606G.
Trackball Mounting Position
Horizontal installation is recommended for the mechanical trackball. When mounted vertically at 90°, gravity may affect the operating feel of the trackball.
Operating Environment
It is not recommended for environments with heavy oil, continuous moisture or direct water exposure. For these conditions, consider a more fully sealed keyboard and pointing-device solution.
Protection scope
The keyboard area is rated IP65 from the front, while the mechanical trackball is IP54. Do not treat the complete front surface or finished equipment installation as IP65.
Key Feel & Typing Force
The metal keys require more force to press than a standard office keyboard. This firmer key feel is normal for industrial stainless steel keyboards and should be considered for applications involving frequent or extended typing.
