Direct Access to More Controls
D-8605 is a good fit for equipment where operators regularly switch between machine commands, navigation and data entry. Dedicated F1–F12 keys provide direct access to function commands, while the separate numeric keypad makes entering values, coordinates and parameters faster and more convenient.
The familiar, expanded layout also reduces dependence on key combinations, making frequently used controls easier to find during operation. Is D-8605 the Right Fit?
Consider the available panel space, how much of the full-size layout your operators will use, and the installation environment before selecting D-8605.
Allow for the Larger Panel Width
At 478 mm wide, D-8605 requires considerably more panel space than DAVOLIN’s compact trackball keyboards. Check the available console width before selecting this model.
Best When the Full Layout Is Actually Needed
Choose D-8605 when operators regularly use the numeric keypad, function keys and extended PC-style layout. For simpler control tasks, a smaller keyboard may provide a better fit.
Mechanical Trackball Environment
The mechanical trackball is intended for controlled industrial use. Heavy oil, continuous moisture or direct water exposure may affect operation, so a more fully sealed pointing solution should be considered for these environments.
Check Legacy Host Compatibility
PS/2 is available for legacy equipment, while USB suits most current systems. For older industrial PCs or embedded controllers, confirm the required interface and host compatibility before ordering.
