A Compact Industrial Keyboard for Space-Limited Panels
D-8601 is a practical choice when panel space is limited but direct physical key input is still required. Its metal front panel and individual stainless steel keys provide an industrial-grade interface for installations exposed to frequent use or potential physical abuse.
The front operating surface is rated IP65 for protection against dust ingress and water jets, and the standard design is specified for operation from −40 °C to +70 °C.

Two fixed-panel integration examples
These examples show the D-8601 used as a built-in operator keyboard rather than a separate desktop peripheral. One installation supports direct input at a waterjet cutting machine; the other places the keyboard within a measurement and inspection console.
For either application, confirm the panel cutout, mounting arrangement, cable exit and host interface before the equipment enclosure is finalised.

Check These Limits Before You Specify D-8601
D-8601 is designed for protected, fixed-panel use. Review the protection boundary, input feel, operating environment and required installation hardware before finalising your configuration.
IP65 Is Limited to the Front Surface
The IP65 rating applies to the stated front operating surface only. It does not make the complete keyboard, rear housing or installed equipment wash-down proof.
Industrial Key Feel
The metal keys are designed for durability and fixed-panel use, not the light travel or typing comfort of an office keyboard. Request a sample when frequent text entry is a primary requirement.
Limits in Contaminated Environments
This model is not intended for unsealed installations with heavy airborne dust, oil mist, standing moisture or frequent wash-down. Consider a fully sealed keyboard where these conditions are routine.
Installation Hardware
Unless stated in the quotation, mounting fasteners, installation tools and enclosure sealing accessories are not included. Confirm any required hardware before ordering.
